English \ Language Arts

  1. Uses the general skills and strategies of the writing process.
    Level I

    • Dictates or writes stories, based on one’s own experience, with a logical sequence of events (K,1, 2)

    • Understands the basic measures length, width, height, weight, time, volume, and temperature (2) – Knows processes for telling time, counting money, and measuring length, weight, and temperature, using basic standard and non-standard units (2)
    • Makes estimates of familiar linear dimensions, weights, quantities and time intervals and checks them against measurement (2)
  5. Understands and applies basic and advanced properties of functions and algebra.

    • Understands basic properties of (e.g., number of sides, angles, symmetry) and similarities and differences between simple geometric shapes (triangle, square, rectangle, and circle) (1)
    • Understands that patterns can be made by putting different shapes together or taking them apart (1)

Social Studies: Civics Strand

  1. Understands the basic concepts of government and its functions.
    Level I

    • Knows that people in positions of authority have limits on their authority (K,1,2)
