Students will be informally assessed by the teacher on a daily basis. The teacher will take notes as to how students are grasping the different concepts being introduced to them in Literacy, Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Science. The teacher will review these notes daily, in order to see if students are grasping the content being taught.
In Science, Math, and Social Studies, students will be assessed using teacher created assessment tests. Assessments will be given when a unit has been completed, and the content has been reviewed. The purpose of assessing the students is for the teacher to see if the material that was taught has been absorbed by the students correctly. The material will be retaught if a majority of the students do not do well on the classroom assessment. The assessment will account for a small percentage of the student’s final grade.
